Musical Harmonica

Aim:

To make a musical harmonica.

Materials Required:

Procedure:

Take a glass of water and dip the end of your middle finger in the water, and run the moist finger tip slowly around the rim of the glass. The finger must be neither too wet nor too dry keep moving until you hear a strong, clear note coming from the glass. This is because the finger moves around the rim in a series of tiny jerks and due to these imperceptible movements make the glass vibrate and produce a tone due to frictional movements.
