Building a Simple Electric Generator

Objective

Create a simple electric generator to understand the principles of electromagnetism.

Materials

• Copper wire
• Iron nail or bolt
• Strong magnets
• LED light
• Notebook for observations

Instructions

1. Wrap copper wire around the iron nail or bolt to create a coil.
2. Connect the ends of the copper wire to the LED light.
3. Move the magnets quickly back and forth near the coil to generate electricity.
4. Observe and record how the LED light glows when the magnets are moved.
5. Experiment with different coil sizes and magnet strengths to see how it affects the generated electricity.
6. Analyze your findings to understand the principles of electromagnetism and electric generation.
