Objective
Create a simple electric generator to understand the principles of electromagnetism.
Materials
- Copper wire
- Iron nail or bolt
- Strong magnets
- LED light
- Notebook for observations
Instructions
- Wrap copper wire around the iron nail or bolt to create a coil.
- Connect the ends of the copper wire to the LED light.
- Move the magnets quickly back and forth near the coil to generate electricity.
- Observe and record how the LED light glows when the magnets are moved.
- Experiment with different coil sizes and magnet strengths to see how it affects the generated electricity.
- Analyze your findings to understand the principles of electromagnetism and electric generation.
