Measuring Air Quality

Measuring Air Quality

Objective

Assess the air quality in different locations using simple monitoring techniques.

Materials

  • Air quality monitoring device or DIY air pollution detector
  • Notebook for observations
  • Maps of the sampling locations

Instructions

  1. Set up the air quality monitoring device according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
  2. Select different locations to measure air quality, such as urban areas, parks, and near traffic.
  3. Record the air quality data at each location in your notebook, noting the date, time, and weather conditions.
  4. Compare the air quality readings from different locations.
  5. Analyze your findings to determine which areas have the highest and lowest air pollution levels.
  6. Present your results in a report, highlighting any environmental concerns and potential sources of air pollution.
