Objective
Investigate the principles of buoyancy and Archimedes’ principle using simple experiments.
Materials
- Water
- Graduated cylinder
- Various objects of different materials and densities
- Scale
- Notebook for recording data
Instructions
- Fill a graduated cylinder with water and note the initial water level.
- Weigh each object and record its weight.
- Immerse each object in the water and measure the volume of water displaced.
- Calculate the buoyant force experienced by each object using Archimedes’ principle.
- Record all your measurements and calculations in your notebook.
- Analyze your findings to understand the relationship between buoyancy, object density, and fluid displacement.
- Present your results in a report, explaining the principles of buoyancy and Archimedes’ principle with your experimental evidence.
