Objective
Evaluate the antibacterial properties of natural substances.
Materials
- Agar plates
- Bacterial cultures (e.g., E.coli)
- Natural antibiotics (e.g., garlic, honey, ginger)
- Sterile disks
- Incubator
- Notebook for observations
Instructions
- Prepare agar plates and inoculate them with bacterial cultures.
- Cut small disks from filter paper and soak them in the natural antibiotics.
- Place the disks onto the agar plates.
- Incubate the plates at 37°C for 24-48 hours.
- Observe the zones of inhibition around each disk.
- Measure the diameter of the inhibition zones and record in the notebook.
- Compare the effectiveness of different natural antibiotics against the bacterial cultures.
- Draw conclusions about which natural substance has the strongest antibacterial properties.
