Objective
Simulate acid rain and observe its impact on plant growth and health.
Materials
- Potted plants (same species)
- Vinegar
- Water
- pH strips
- Measuring cup
- Notebook for observations
Instructions
- Prepare a solution of water and vinegar to simulate acid rain with a pH similar to real acid rain.
- Water one group of plants with the acidic solution and another group with regular water.
- Measure the pH of the solutions using pH strips.
- Water the plants at regular intervals with the respective solutions.
- Observe and record the growth, leaf color, and overall health of each plant weekly in your notebook.
- Compare the growth and health of plants exposed to acid rain with those watered with regular water.
- Analyze the impact of acid rain on plant growth and document your findings.
